Behavioral Technical Presentation

I had 3 interviews for the GMP Production Technician role. First, I had a phone chat with HR where we discussed the job and my qualifications. Then, I had a web interview with the hiring manager, who went into more detail about the role, my background, and my interest in the company. He also explained the daily tasks and production process. I got to ask questions and felt good about it. The next week, I visited the Xenia site for an in-person interview and a tour. I was asked typical interview questions, met the team leads, and saw the facilities. The interview concluded with information about benefits and company culture.

I sent in my application online via a job board, and then I was emailed to schedule a phone interview with HR. About a week after that, I had another phone interview with the head of chemistry. Two days after that call, I got invited to come to the facility, and the interview was set for three weeks out. When I got there, we started with a tour of the labs. After the tour, I gave an hour-long presentation. Then, I had individual meetings with three different chemistry group leaders and the head of the chemistry department, with each meeting lasting about an hour. Everyone was really nice, but during my presentation, they asked me a lot of challenging questions, kind of like a PhD defense. About three weeks after the onsite, I got a call letting me know they decided to go in a different direction.

  • Can you perform a retro synthetic analysis?
