I initially connected with a hiring manager on LinkedIn. Then, I had one video interview with pretty average questions. The only weird thing was an HR rep in the background with their camera off. After the interview, they asked for references, and an HR rep did the reference checks. They took a whole month for this. After all the checks were done, the HR rep still didn't know if I'd get an offer or be rejected. It was a really bizarre and disconnected experience overall. I wouldn't want to work there.

I got a response to my application within a day. A few days later, I had a phone interview, which I think went well. The following week, I was invited for an in-person interview with three department members. They asked pretty standard questions. They mentioned they were 'just beginning their search' and that I'd hear back about next steps. I sent thank-you emails after the interview and waited a week, but heard nothing. I emailed the coordinator but got no reply. After another two weeks with no response, I sent another email, still nothing. At this point, four weeks after the interview, I'm assuming they're not interested, though I would have preferred some confirmation, like a simple email saying, 'We thank you for your interest in our organization but have decided to pursue another candidate... we wish luck in your job search.'

I was called by one of the two administrative assistants already working there. I met with the Bursar and Assistant Bursar. I was confused when I arrived at the security desk because there was no sign-in required and they offered minimal assistance. I didn't know where to go. I ended up being overdressed; the interview suggested business casual attire but it seemed like a completely casual environment.

I applied and they called me to schedule an interview within two weeks. I went to the interview, which included the Dean and three other faculty members. It was a bit of a strange situation because they basically told me I was overqualified for the position and then I had to justify why I even came for an interview they scheduled. Not a great experience.
