First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cambium Networks.
Hardware Engineer
Got referred by an employee. The tech lead wanted to meet face-to-face. It was a 2-hour whiteboard session. After the interview questions, they mentioned there would be one more round with someone from the US, who was currently busy with a release. When I asked about the role, they said we are designing a Project and looking for an engineer who can do that, and you'll also get parallel projects. However, I never got a callback or a reply to my emails. Maybe their SMTP is down or the release is still ongoing. Beyond the technical aspects, how a company treats people even when they don't directly benefit them is crucial for growth. Without values and transparency, knowledge is useless. Sorry Cambium, if you had scheduled another round, I would have declined anyway. Good that you didn't. If anyone reading this feels it's premature, so be it. All the best.
- Can you explain how Series termination works?
- What's your method for qualifying a product for a specific temperature range without using a temperature chamber?
- Could you describe how a buck converter operates?
Software Engineer
Applied online and went through 2 technical rounds and one HR round. The whole thing took about 2 weeks. The first technical round focused on programming language specifics and database concepts. The second technical round tested problem-solving with medium and hard logic problems involving arrays.
- Given multiple scenarios, write rest APIs for them.
- Write middleware for given multiple scenarios.
- Design a DB schema for the scenarios.
Network Engineer
The first round was with the director, and it was a really friendly chat. The whole interview process felt smooth. You can expect technical questions, similar to what you might get in a managerial interview, but don't stress too much. It's definitely crackable if you've got intermediate technical knowledge.
- Were you asked scenario-based questions?
- What are the basics of CCNA you know?
- Can you concentrate more on wireless related topics?
Cloud Operations Engineer
It was 5 rounds of interviews plus an HR round. The first round was purely technical, the 2nd and 3rd were semi-technical with some scenario-based questions. The next 2 rounds were discussions about how we fit into Cambium's culture and setup. The HR round was good with some tricky questions.
- Can you describe how you would set up a transit gateway mesh connecting all of their AWS regions and the on-prem environment?
