Recruiter
It's a super easy process, asking the usual stuff. You know, 'Tell me about yourself.' and 'What's your recruiting experience like?' Make sure you've looked into the company beforehand. It seems like a great place to work with a really good team.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What experience do you have in recruiting?
- Have you researched our company?
Project Assistant
It was a quick, kinda jumbled phone screen first. Then, a week later, I had a 2-hour interview that included an editing test they mailed me and had me do on camera. The test took 30 minutes, and the rest of the time I talked with the hiring manager and two project assistants. Even though they said this job was for new grads, they asked a lot about my past jobs and bosses. Everyone seemed nice and mostly professional, except for the recruiter. I sent back the test right after the interview and got rejected two days later by the recruiter. This was super weird because it seemed too fast, and they told me in the interview they had no worries about my skills. When I asked for feedback, they said my editing score wasn't high enough, which I figure means someone else was a bit better or cheaper, maybe both. As an English major, I've always aced editing tests, so I know I didn't mess up that badly. It's strange to make one test so important when it's easy to improve. I'm bummed about how I was treated and the fast rejection, which makes it seem like they don't respect candidates' time while still expecting a lot.
- What would previous managers say about you?
- Are you a detail-oriented person or a big picture person?
- Describe a mistake you made and how you resolved it.
Customer Success Implementation Coordinator
The first interview was super quick with really basic questions. After that, I had another interview with two people from the team I was hoping to join. It was a really nice and chill time, and I felt a good connection with them. Then, I interviewed with the manager of the team. That also seemed to go really well, and she seemed genuinely interested in me joining her team. I basically walked away feeling confident about getting an offer. But then, I ended up waiting around two months only to get an email saying they decided to move forward with other candidates. Maybe my salary expectations were too high. All three interviews asked about my salary expectations, but none of them could confirm if my desired amount was reasonable.
- Can you describe how you manage conflict situations?
- Could you tell me about a project you've successfully completed that you're proud of?
Support Representative
I applied when they were Rosetta Stone, just before the merge with Cambium. A recruiter reached out within about two weeks for a chat, and it was pretty chill. I've heard that sometimes recruiters think you're a great fit, but the hiring team might not agree. I then went through two more rounds. The first one was about my background and the job itself. The second round had the same recruiter plus two people I'd be working with directly. I think a good chunk of that second round was behavioral questions. I was a bit nervous and felt I came across as just okay. I did see a review saying they ghost candidates, and that's exactly what happened to me. I only found out I didn't get the job by checking my status on the candidate portal. My guess is I didn't fit the company culture. My advice is to be ready to impress them, be super personable, and have solid experience, and you should be fine.
- How would you handle a frustrated or agitated person?
