First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Calvin University.
Research Assistant
I had an interview with the professor for the Research Assistant position. I tried to be confident and emphasize my willingness to learn and apply knowledge from the professor's courses. After the interview, I was notified about the opportunity.
- What about this research or field sparks your interest?
- Do you have any thoughts on how to approach a particular area of interest?
Sales Representative
The hiring process was very fast and simple. They just wanted to know a bit about me and my experience. Good salary too. Knowing languages is very important in the center of Barcelona.
- What are your strengths, and why should I hire you?
- Tell me about your experience and why I should hire you.
Events Assistant
This was a virtual interview using zoom, and it lasted for about thirty minutes. I was able to do it from a room in my house and there was just one interviewer.
- Are you a team player?
Administrative Assistant
It was a brief interview where they asked about my administrative experience and what I hoped to get out of working in the department. It was very conversational and friendly. I think they had already narrowed down the applicants and were more focused on finding someone who would fit in well with the current staff. Most questions were pretty standard for secretarial work, like 'Do you have any office experience?', 'Have you worked with people?', 'What is your typing speed?', etc. The environment was very comfortable and the interviewers were friendly.
- Could you tell me about your past office work experience?
