First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CallMiner.
Internship
It was a standard small panel interview. Pretty straightforward and relaxed, with a little bit of pressure. They asked more about who I was and what I liked doing. We briefly talked about my past experience, connecting it to the portfolio I had already given them. It was honestly one of the best interview experiences I've ever had.
- Tell me about your experience working in a team environment.
Technical Writer
The interview process included two phone calls initially. The first call was a Q&A to check qualifications. After that, there was an in-person meeting with several team members. The interviews felt very conversational and relaxed. The team was friendly and collaborative, openly discussing concerns which showed transparency. They answered all my questions thoroughly. They also included some lighthearted questions and a brain teaser. I wasn't offered the job because of the requirement to work remotely at least three days a week.

Customer Success Director
I was referred by an external recruiter. It seemed like I was a good fit, but I got the vibe that the role's direction wasn't super clear. The job title (it's currently a director role, but might be changing), territory, whether it was remote or in-office, and who it reports to – all this info was different depending on who I talked to. I chatted with the external recruiter, an internal recruiter, and two "leads." The first lead was really upfront and easy to talk to. The second lead was more low-key and let it slip that they'd be implementing new sales quotas for customer success next year (which is a bit strange) and that the role wouldn't report to the VP like everyone else had said. I asked a bunch of questions to get a clearer picture of what to expect, and then got some weird feedback that I apparently don't have enough experience managing renewals, even though that's been part of my responsibilities for the last 10 years across my previous three jobs. Definitely saw a lot of red flags. Dodged a bullet though. I suspect they just didn't want someone who would uncover all the issues.
- Do you handle renewals?
- How do you work with sales currently?
- What's making you think about leaving your current job?
Devops Engineer
I had a phone chat with HR, then another phone call with the technical lead. After that, it was an onsite interview with the technical team. Finally, I had a one-way phone call with the VP of Engineering. The team seemed really nice, and I got the vibe they're modern, open-minded, and have a flexible engineering approach. People seemed happy and chill there. Unfortunately, I didn't get an offer after about 4 interviews and the whole thing took over a month.
- What technical questions do you have related to the job?
- What are your plans in mind?
