HR Assistant
It was pretty straightforward. I had two interviews, one phone call and then an in-person one with the Manager. Both were about half an hour long. We mostly discussed my background and what I'm aiming for.
- Can you share your experience?
Development Manager
The interview process was quite disappointing. It started with an HR interview where the interviewer seemed nice and professional, but he was very obviously reading questions from a paper. These questions were incredibly generic and uninspired. Next, I met with my potential manager. This meeting was also just okay, and I didn't get a strong sense of cultural fit. The vibe felt a bit cold, and when I asked about work-life balance and the company culture, the answers didn't feel entirely genuine. The final interview with the two top executives was actually really good. I was impressed by them and started to think it could be a good fit. However, the salary offer was surprisingly low for the role, and there was very little room for negotiation, which ultimately led me to decline the offer.
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Event Manager
You'll get a phone screening first. If that goes well, they'll set up an in-person interview. Be ready to talk big and show off your event portfolio; they'll love seeing pictures of your events. They'll want to hear about the events in your portfolio.
- Could you share a story about a challenging event you managed?
- Can you present your event portfolio?
- Please walk us through some of the events featured in your portfolio.
Educator
I applied for the job on Careerbuilder. I got a call the next day to set up an interview. The interview itself was super easy, like they were just reading from a script. Right after, they called me back the same day to schedule an orientation for the following week. The whole thing was really fast and simple.
- What are your thoughts on informal education?
