Server/Busboy/Cashier/Food Prep
So first, we had a quick phone chat. Then, I had a virtual meeting with HR. After that, I talked with the hiring manager for a more in-depth conversation. Lastly, there was a panel interview where they asked me some questions about different situations and how I'd fit with the team.
- Do you have prior experience?
- Are you able to wash dishes?
Hostess
I got a phone call asking me to come in for an interview. The process was pretty straightforward. They mostly asked me about myself, my availability, and how I'd handle an unhappy customer, plus some questions about the menu.
- What's your favorite thing on the menu?
Server
I interviewed at a walk-in event, about an hour after it started. The manager was ready to interview me. We reviewed my application and they asked follow-up questions about my past work experience. We also discussed my schedule availability, which seemed to be their main concern. They need someone available on weekends and nights, and also some weekdays.
- Do you have any scheduling conflicts?
- Can you tell me about your past work experience?
- Are you available to work weekends and nights?
Hostess
I was interviewed by three different managers over the course of three days. It was kind of annoying because the actual interview was only about 10 minutes long, but I had to wait around for 30 minutes each day just to talk to them. They ask basic questions, so just be ready for that. They tend to get a bit cagey when talking about the hourly pay, so make sure you hold your ground on that.
- Can you tell me about your past experience that relates to this role?
