Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at California Department of Public Health.
Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward. There was one round with HR and another with the team I was to be matched with, to gauge my fit. They asked about my experiences and behavioral questions.
- What makes you want to join CDPH?
Intern
It was a 2 round interview process. First round was the actual interview. Second round was determining the placement. The questions were as expected and the person interviewing me was helpful in finding out what I want from the position.
- Can you tell me about your past work experiences?
- What are your aspirations for your career?
Intern
They gave me a list of four questions to read through before starting the interview. It felt like a fair process, and I think there were about 4-5 other people interviewing. They really want to make sure they find the right fit, so be ready.
- They will assess your ability to work independently.
