The Admin who is currently in the role helped me set up this first interview. When I got there, I saw another person interviewing for the same job. We were asked questions and had to answer them in turns. It was the first time I'd experienced this setup, but I think it went pretty well.

It was a three step process, but I only got through step 1. First, there was a one-hour interview with a career advisor and their boss. It went well, but my schedule wasn't open enough for them, so I didn't get a call back. Step 2 was a 30-45 minute presentation with a Powerpoint, covering current resume trends and interview tactics, since the role involves teaching classes on these topics. Finally, the last step would be meeting the Dean of the school to see if he thought I was a good fit.

First, there's a quick phone chat with the associate dean. If that works out, you'll do a 'practice teach' -- basically, you give a 15-20 minute lecture on a topic like you would for a class. The dean, associate dean, and maybe one or two other staff members will be there watching. Right after, they'll ask you questions about your presentation or your resume.

I talked with the Campus President for an hour and a half. He mentioned a second interview with the registrar and the dean, but I never heard back after following up. I'm not sure what happened, but it was disappointing because he didn't follow through.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • He was talking to me about the school and it was more of a conversation, which is why I'm confused about why he didn't call me back as he said he would. Perhaps their priorities shifted or someone else was chosen. He even stated that I met the qualifications and passed his interview. It was just a strange situation. The interview wasn't difficult, and he's a nice person, so I'm feeling quite down about it.
