First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at California Coast Credit Union.
Analyst
Phone call from HR asking general questions, then a phone call from the hiring manager discussing how your experience can be valuable for the team. After that, an interview with the team you will be working for, and finally, the offer letter.
- What's your motivation for joining Cal Coast?
- Can you describe what you understand our department's function to be?
- Could you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Software Developer
I had an interview with the hiring manager, then a second round with three developers who asked technical questions and didn't seem very engaged. After the final interview, there was no follow-up. HR seems disorganized, so I wouldn't suggest interviewing with them.
- What are your thoughts on backend technologies and cloud platforms?
Collector
I met with the Collections Manager, a team lead, and a V.P. in charge of the Lending/Portfolio Dept. It was a group interview where those 3 people were in an office asking me questions. After the interview, I followed up by calling, as they had told me they'd make their hiring decision by a certain timeframe. The Collections Manager never returned my calls, and I left two separate voicemail messages for him on different days. I also never got a denial letter from the credit union. Despite my communication efforts, I never heard anything back from them.
- Can you share an instance where you went above and beyond to help a member?
Risk Management Analyst
I met with three people for the interview: the department head and two other team members. We talked about risk assessment theories and related questions. They also asked about personal life topics, and the overall vibe was very friendly.
- In what ways does your experience as a student athlete contribute to your professional effectiveness?
