Audit Staff
An HR person emailed me to set up a virtual interview, and then they followed up to schedule another in-person interview with two firm partners.
- Describe your experience working in teams.
HR Generalist
I applied on LinkedIn and heard back from a recruiter about 2 days later who wanted to chat on Teams for 30 minutes. That first call was pretty standard. The recruiter then set up a 30-minute call with the hiring manager for the next day, which ended up being about 45 minutes. A few days later, I got invited for an in-person interview at their office, scheduled for an hour, but it went long, over 2 hours. I met with the hiring manager, another HR person, and the Facilities Operations Manager. I felt pretty good about it, though sometimes I felt a bit rushed to ask my questions. I sprinkled my questions in throughout the interview, not saving them all for the end. I sent thank you emails to everyone I met and the recruiter that same day. I didn't hear back, so I followed up with the recruiter a week later, and then again the week after that, still no response. Finally, I emailed the hiring manager more than 3 weeks after the interview and then got a standard rejection email from their system. It was a bit frustrating because they had multiple interviews, which I went through quickly, and everyone was nice, but then I felt ghosted and didn't even get a simple update.
- Tell me about a mistake you made and how you handled it, or what you would have done differently.
Accountant
Applied online and then got contacted for a video meeting. Was asked to do some tests at the end of the interview, and they said I'd get a link. They assured me the results would be shared when I asked. The interviewer made it sound urgent and implied I had moved on to the next round. The tests were pretty easy but took about 1.5 hours. Then I was ghosted and never got the test results. No reply after following up. I guess they were trying to hit their quota of screening candidates for the week. It's pretty messed up to waste someone's time like that without even sending the results or a rejection. Calibre really showed their true colors.
- What is your motivation for seeking employment with our organization?
Staff Auditor
The interview process involved talking with several partners. They asked typical interview questions like 'tell us about yourself,' 'what are your strengths/weaknesses,' and 'how would you handle a hypothetical work situation.' The entire interview was under 40 minutes. Both partners were relaxed and friendly, which made me feel comfortable. The process included a phone interview and then an in-person one.
- Can you introduce yourself?
