The interview itself wasn’t bad, but the panel asked several questions that seemed irrelevant to the position and more focused on trying to critique me. They didn’t appear to take the process seriously, and their approach came off as disrespectful and unprofessional, especially to someone who was simply trying to present their qualifications in the heat of an interview. What added to my frustration was having driven two hours for the interview after being told I was a qualified finalist, only to receive no follow-up when they chose another candidate. It’s frustrating that they expected a serious commitment from me—traveling, preparing, and showing up in person—yet couldn’t extend the basic courtesy of a response.

We had three rounds. First was a virtual role-play and clinical vignette. Second was another virtual interview, where they asked more questions about my first round answers and also did a more casual "get to know you" part. The last one was in person. All interviews had 2-3 people interviewing.

Since this is in education and a big organization, it might take about 3 months to hear back if you get an interview. The interviews are panel-style, usually with 3 people from the department you're applying to. Each person on the panel will ask a question, and their questions and screening tools are HR-approved. After the interview, candidates are graded, and the top scorers move forward. The panel then selects the candidate they want to offer the job to and tells HR. HR needs to approve this before supervisors can make the job offer.
