I was really excited to interview with the company after seeing their success stories and the CEO's message, which made it seem like a really supportive place. I got invited for an interview and even got several reminders, but my virtual interview on Feb 13th never actually happened. I waited in the Teams lobby way past the interview time and even messaged the HR specialist I was supposed to interview with to let them know I was waiting, but got no response. Since it was close to a holiday, I sent a follow-up email about the situation and said I was still keen to interview, but again, no reply. Ten days later, I got an 'update' saying I wouldn't be moving forward.

My experience with CAI's hiring was rough. I applied for a Team Lead role, and a manager missed the first interview without a word. They asked me to reschedule, pushing the process to almost a month. After all that, they picked an internal person. Then, I applied for an Analyst job. Things seemed positive, but they said the job changed and they were going in a 'different direction.' For my third try, another Team Lead role, the same manager missed the interview again. After a long first round, I was told no more interviews were needed, just a chat before an expected start. But then they decided not to fill the spot anyway because of 'bad luck.' It felt like a waste of my time and showed a lack of respect and disorganized decision-making.

This was a horrible interview experience. I was contacted multiple times by the same person for the initial over the phone screening. Then for the next stages, the times she gave me for follow-up interviews and what she actually scheduled were different. I also had to take a timed skill test, which was sent at a different time than I was told it would arrive. I was instructed to send it back an hour after receiving it, so timing was crucial. The interviews themselves were easy, but it felt like jumping through hoops to accommodate their disorganization, making it 'Difficult'.

I have a lot of experience with interviews given my 20+ years in IT, and this was one of the best I've had. CAI's main goal was to check if I could do the job, with no ego or tricks, just a relaxed, friendly chat. They asked questions specific to the role, unlike other companies that ask generic HR questions like 'greatest success/failure' or 'handling difficult people.' While those can be important, they sometimes overshadow job-specific questions. CAI's recruiters, employees, and management were all great to talk to. I thought, 'This is how it should be done,' even if I didn't get the job. They also use a 'Skills Assessment' pre-screen, which is common. It's a 2-3 part test, with one part being like an IQ test in disguise. This isn't unique to CAI, but it's something many companies use, calling it different things, but it's essentially an IQ test.
