I found a job posting for a senior software engineer on PA CareerLink, but couldn't locate it anywhere else, and the description was very basic. I sent an email and received a phone call the next day. The person doing the screening didn't seem to pay attention to my responses or even read my resume. This, along with the job not being on their company website or LinkedIn, was a major red flag. When I inquired about the job's responsibilities due to the vague listing, the screener explained that the posting was a legal formality because they were hiring for legal residency and were required by law to post a job and interview US citizens. I interrupted him, stated that's a personal pet peeve, and declined to proceed. He repeated it was a legal requirement and ended the call abruptly without thanking me. I don't recommend interviewing with this company based on this experience.

I had an initial phone call with the manager. Then there was a thirty-minute zoom meeting with the manager. Finally, a 2-hour zoom meeting with Human Resources and other members of the team, covering experience and practical knowledge.

Got set up with this by an agent, first thing was a panel phone interview. The gig asked for deep experience in both PHY and MAC, but from what they asked, they really only cared about MAC, not so much the nitty-gritty component stuff. Seems like they've got some smart people on the system side, but they're not really focused on signal processing (the lower PHY bits). Looks like the company is kinda new to LTE and just doing the protocol stacks. Good luck finding someone who knows components for both L1 and L2, they'll probably end up hiring a high-level systems engineer who's done both.

The recruitment process is handled by an external agency that can be overly persistent and condescending. The company, reliant on the cable modem industry, appears to be more of a contracting firm than a direct employer, offering a less secure contractor role rather than full-time positions. Despite claims of being an R&D lab, there's a lack of academic publications, and the interview suggested internal politics beneath a polished exterior. Caution is advised for potential employment.
