Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process seemed to go well for the most part. I had a conversation with two Creative Directors who were very friendly, relaxed, and easy to talk to, and I felt a good connection with them. However, the Vice President came in and was quite difficult to interact with. He was rather rude, asked several questions at once without listening to my responses, gave a weak handshake, and avoided eye contact. It felt like he was trying to assert dominance and had already decided against me before the meeting even started. I was notified via email a week later that one Creative Director appreciated my skills and background, but the Vice President did not. I'm unsure of his reasoning, but the Creative Directors were great.

The interview started off bad. I could tell as soon as they saw me on camera, they were not interested in me. There were two people who interviewed me. The first person introduced himself, said nothing about the company or his role. The 2nd person did not even introduce himself or say 'Hello'. The first person then proceeded to ask me to tell him about myself. I provided an well thought out answer and kept it brief. He then described the position and the associated responsibilities. He was ready to end the interview after 10 minutes. I then proceeded to ask a series of questions to demonstrate my knowledge of the position and how I could come in and immediately contribute to the company. All through my question and the half hearted answers, the interviewer kept yawning and shuffling playing cards while the 2nd interviewer never said one word! This was a total waste of everyone's time because they knew they were not going to hire me as soon as they saw me. My advise to this company is if they are looking for someone with a certain look or certain background convey that to the recruiters trying to fill this position and stop wasting people's time. On top of this they never provided my recruiter any feedback (positive or negative)!!

I applied online, but then didn't finish the application because of bad reviews. HR emailed me later about not getting my resume, which was because I hadn't finished the application. After two weeks of back-and-forth emails and finishing the application, I got an invite for a MS Team interview. Even though all correspondence mentioned the specific job, HR emailed 20 minutes before the interview to cancel, saying they thought I was applying for a different position. The job was already filled, but it's still listed as open online.

I applied through a big job board and the recruiter from the company reached out about a week later. I had a really thorough and honest phone chat, and they even got back to me about a question I asked. It was a professional and pleasant phone interview. I was actually hoping to do an in-person meeting, but I didn't have the right industry experience.
