The interview process was basic and straightforward, without any unexpected or unusual questions. It was quite unexciting, honestly. Any standard interview advice should suffice. The requirement to write 30 words here feels a bit silly given how little there is to add. This is a traditional organization with a dated dress code, only allowing jeans on Fridays. While men have more casual options, women might feel scrutinized for their fashion choices.

Started with a recruiter chat, then a phone call with the department manager, and finally an interview with the manager and department director. The interactions were really positive, and I felt like they understood my skills and experience. I felt valued.

The job was first posted on Craigslist, and after applying online, there was a long period of phone tag with a part-time HR person to arrange and then conduct a rather scripted phone interview. If you passed that, you then had an on-site interview with the hiring manager and a senior director. This hour-long interview was typical for healthcare roles, asking all the usual questions. Even though it seemed to go really well and I felt I might get the job after meeting the nice people there, everything just stopped. I tried to follow up by mail and email, and then by phone, but there was no response from the company at all. HR really should have done the follow-up they promised, whether by phone, mail, or email. It was concerning, especially for an organization that talks a lot about caring. Maybe they were just swamped with too many applicants and need a full-time HR person.

while I was initially excited about the opportunity, I found the experience quite disappointing. The interviewer asked standard questions, which I answered honestly. However, from the point that I mentioned that I am full time student, the tone of the interview became very condescending. Despite my efforts to explain how I manage my time, the interviewer repeatedly asked the same question in different ways, making me feel uncomfortable. It seemed there was a lack of understanding and respect for my situation as a student. Overall, I finished the interview feeling that the company may not be the right fit for me. I hope they can work on improving their interview process to be a more welcoming and supportive one.
