Registered Behavior Technician
It started with a call interview to see if I was a good fit. Then, there was a Google Meet or in-person interview, depending on where you are located. I had a 40-minute call where they just got to know me and my background.
- How would you handle a situation where the client becomes aggressive?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
The interview process was pretty standard: Recruiter Call → Interview → Job Offer. I actually got a job offer via text the day after my interview, and then they kept texting me daily about the offer. It was nice that it was quick and I liked talking to everyone, but all the texts, especially when I was working full-time, were a lot. It felt like it was moving too fast to really research the company well, check the contract properly, or even ask and think about questions and answers. I wish I had a little more time and space to figure things out.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
Registered Behavior Technician
The interview process went pretty well. It was a quick 15-30 minute zoom call. We talked about the job responsibilities and my previous work experience. We talked about how my past work experience can tie into being an RBT and I was hired on the spot.
- How do you typically de-escalate a child who is in an elevated state?
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
The interview was done virtually, through telehealth. It was split into two main parts. First, I had a chat with someone who asked a few quick questions. Then, I spoke with the director for a more in-depth discussion. This second part involved hypothetical scenarios where I had to suggest solutions I thought would be appropriate. Since I'm a newly certified BCBA, the pressure of having to troubleshoot on the spot made me a bit nervous, but overall, I felt it was a comprehensive and good interview experience.
