First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Butler/Till.
Business Development Manager
I interviewed with the C-suite and the immediate team. The interviewers were nice and cared more about if I would fit in with the company than asking technical questions. The leadership really believes in the company's mission and is proud of the company culture.
- How do you approach prospecting?
Infrastructure Engineer
First, there was a quick recruiter chat to get basic info. Then, a phone call with the team lead about expectations and high-level issues, nothing technical. After that, an in-person technical session with a couple of team leads where we discussed a theoretical situation needing infrastructure built to support it.
- How would you architect the cloud infrastructure for a URL shortening project, considering potential complexities?
- How would you adapt the infrastructure as the URL shortening project's requirements evolve and become more complex?
Software Engineer
It started with a screening call with HR, followed by a 1-hour call with the director. Then there was an in-person meeting which included a technical interview and a team meet-and-greet. The technical part involved a white-boarding session where I had to build a url shortener and explain my design decisions.
- Would you rather work from home or in the office?
Recruiter
My interview experience with this company has been disappointing. After my final interview, I haven't heard back in three weeks, even after following up. The process involved a phone interview, two team interviews, a recruiting exercise, and a paper application. I submitted everything on time and felt my interviews went well. However, it's been a week since I emailed to ask for an update, and I still haven't received any feedback or follow-up on the role's status. It's a shame a well-regarded company would ghost me after the final interview, as I was really hoping to join the team.
- How do you work with hiring managers?
