Applied online and heard back from a Producer at INSIDER about a phone interview a week later. The Producer asked about my video production background, what I liked about INSIDER's content, and what I could contribute. I also had to pitch a story idea, so be ready for that! I emailed the producer a few days later, mentioning I had the Adobe Creative Suite and was up for an edit test. She immediately asked me to do it. The edit test involved making an INSIDER-style video in 6 hours using provided footage, with freedom to choose music. After submitting the edit test, a Supervising Producer contacted me to meet the team in their NYC office. The in-person interview was in two parts: first with a Supervising Producer and an Executive Producer, then with a Managing Editor and Senior Editor-in-Chief. Each part was about 15 minutes and covered similar questions to the phone interview. I followed up a week later and was told they decided to go with another candidate for the position. I appreciated them responding to my follow-up, as they often don't reply if you don't get the job.

I applied online and got an email a few days later asking to chat on the phone. The phone interview went pretty well, and they asked about my video editing background and my interest in INSIDER. After that, they sent me an editing test to complete within 6 hours. Once I submitted my edit, they invited me for an in-person interview with a few people. I met with two people initially, including the recruiter I'd been emailing, and then met with the head producer for the department separately. Both in-person interviews seemed to go well, and they largely repeated the phone questions, plus asked about my thoughts and process regarding the editing test. I asked about their timeline for filling the role, and they mentioned they weren't looking to fill a specific opening but rather hiring as many skilled editors as possible. They didn't offer me the job during the interview, and it's been almost three weeks with no further contact.

Had one virtual interview with staff from both the US and UK, with about 15 minutes spent with each panel. I had to write two stories beforehand and also get ready to pitch more story ideas during the interview. I did all the prep, but they never got back to me, and even when I followed up, they ignored me. It was a bummer because I put a lot of work into getting ready for it.
