First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Burrell Communications.
Account Supervisor
I saw the job on LinkedIn and applied on their site. The salary range starting at $90k was great, and I was happy they were transparent about it as that was what I was looking for. I have a lot of account management experience, including as an Account Supervisor, so I felt I was a good fit. HR contacted me to set up the first interview with the hiring manager, which went really well. It was supposed to be 30 minutes but ended up being an hour. They told me I would move on to interview with two VPs since I'd be working closely with them. When it was time for that interview, only one VP showed up. I know things happen, so they rescheduled me to meet with the other VP, which I did. After that, I messaged the HR coordinator about the next steps and their decision timeline. A week later, I still hadn't heard back, so I followed up again just asking for an update, even if it meant they weren't moving forward with me. No response. Then I checked the posting again and saw they had dropped the salary range by $10k. At that point, I figured I wouldn't hear anything. It just showed me how important it is to have HR screen for salary expectations and timelines upfront.

Just read a review for this process after the negative experience I had and it seems I’m not the only one. The recruiter was very condescending and almost offensive within the first 10 minutes of the call. Once they wouldn’t reveal the salary range for the role I requested to end the call. The recruiter offered to continue the interview at another point, but I opted not to continue the interview.
- What makes you passionate about marketing?

The interview process was quick and straightforward, essentially a walk-in and you're done from the start. You've most likely got the job; just keep calling until they answer.
- Can you describe your experience in this field?

The interview process at Burrell was great! It started with a hiring screening call, then there were three more interviews with a senior team member. The whole thing took about a month. The team was really involved in the process and the recruiter kept in touch and was active throughout.
- Can you share an insight you've had and explain how you used it in a brand strategy?
