First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Burns White.
Associate Attorney
I applied via their job board and got an email the next day. We set up a phone screening with HR for the next week. The HR person was nice and gave good info. They said I'd hear back by the end of the week, which I did. We scheduled another interview four days later. I met with three partners and five associates, and it lasted about an hour and a half. It was the best interview I've had. They were nice, gave a lot of info, answered my questions, and seemed genuine. I felt like I really wanted to work there. I sent thank you emails the next day. A few attorneys and one partner replied. The partner who responded said they'd discuss it and get back to me soon. I heard back nine days later with an offer.
- A range of questions were asked, but the interview was mostly conversational.
Attorney
Applied on their website and got an email to schedule an interview almost immediately. Interviewed that week with a group of partner-level attorneys. The interview was friendly and lasted about 45 minutes. I'm rating it negatively because they said I'd hear back either way, and I haven't gotten a response several weeks later. Very unprofessional.
- Can you describe your current job responsibilities?
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
Associate
The interview process was pretty standard. Started with a phone screener, then an in-person interview the next week, and I got an offer by the end of that same week. It was a very straightforward discussion about the role and if it's a good fit. They want you to be ready with details about your past work, but they didn't throw any unexpected questions or tasks at me.
- What's your reason for leaving your current employment?
Litigation Paralegal
I interviewed with someone from HR and the paralegal manager first, and they got back to me right away to set up a meeting with the department's attorney. I then met with the attorney, and it felt like a good fit for both the role and the attorney.
- What do you think your biggest contribution would be if you joined this department?
