Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bureau Veritas.
Chemist
I applied online for the Senior Chemist role, but after two interviews, I was offered a position that was only discovered via the official offer letter to be an Analyst role, not the Senior Analyst role I was led to believe I was interviewing for. The salary offered was also much lower than expected. This lack of transparency was disrespectful, so I declined the offer.
- What's your strategy for analyzing four distinct sample sets within a single day?
- How adept are you at troubleshooting issues?
- Do you have experience with GC repair and maintenance?
Chemist
I had an interview with a technical officer who asked me over 30 questions about chemical testing, general knowledge, my personal attitude, education background, and experience. The last question was about what I would do if I wasn't selected for the role. I responded that this is my first experience and my first lesson, so I would improve my interview skills.
- Can you tell me briefly about your positive and negative aspects?
- Could you elaborate on your education background?
- Please describe your experience.
Chemist
Had a 2-round interview. First was with HR and the lab manager, lasted about an hour, and included general and then technical questions. Second round was with the Lab manager, focusing on a deep discussion about the role's processes and requirements. Also got a lab tour.
- What motivates you at work?
