First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Buona Companies.
Restaurant Manager
I applied on November 9th and got a call for a phone interview that same week. The recruiter went on vacation, so I didn't hear back until the third week. Then, I had an in-person interview with the area coach, which seemed to go well despite him being dry. He mentioned he'd contact the owner for a third interview. Another week passed, and I received an email stating they were no longer interested, citing that my experience would be hard to translate to their concept. The whole process was very long and disorganized, from the back office to area management.
- Can you tell me why you are departing from your present employment?
Restaurant Manager
The Area Manager was super nice and accommodating, so it wasn't a big deal when they asked about my ethnicity, marital status, my husband's job, and so on. But then, in the final interview with one of the owners, I was really disappointed because it got way too personal. They said things like, "it seems like you don't know what you want." I used to admire the company, but not anymore. I finished the interview with grace, though, and definitely learned from the experience.
- Can you tell me what you know about our company?
- What do you know about our company?
Restaurant Manager
It was a pretty straightforward process with 3 interviews total. I spoke with HR, the Training Director, and the Director of Corporate Development. They mainly wanted to hear about my past job experiences and my leadership accomplishments. The leadership team was really nice and made me feel comfortable during the interviews.
- Can you describe your previous role?
