Product Manager
I had several video interviews with HR, the hiring manager, other managers, and some of the leadership team. Each step gave me more insight into the company, the specific role, and the market. It was also a chance to talk to people in roles different from the one I was applying for.
- Tell me about the product management methodologies you have experience with and your general product management philosophy.
Principal Product Manager
I submitted my application and the recruiter asked me to do a personality and aptitude assessment, which I did within the 5 days they gave me. I followed up with them twice but they never got back to me. It's bad recruiting practice not to follow up, even if my assessment wasn't good enough.
- Were there multiple choice questions about problem solving?
Product Manager
I had a call with a recruiter first. Then I met the hiring manager for a 30 minute chat, it was super easy, just getting to know each other. After that, I had three 30-minute interviews with other product managers. They all went fine. The recruiter emailed me a week later saying they liked my feedback but were going with someone else. I asked for more details but haven't heard back.
- Can you describe your approach to product management?
- Tell me about a time you encountered [situational scenario] and how you handled it (using the STAR method)?
- How do you approach [product management related task or decision]?
