I applied online and about a week later, an HR person called me for a preliminary chat. A few days after that, I had an interview with the hiring manager. We had a good chat and she told me she wanted to have a second round of interviews. The next day or so, I got an email saying I'd meet with the head of creative services, the project manager, and the VP of marketing. Then, I got another email saying I'd only meet with the first two, not the VP. I went anyway and could tell within 5 minutes that the interviewers weren't impressed. I never heard back from them, even though I was supposed to be a finalist.

I was directly contacted by an Associate Creative Director via phone and invited for an interview. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find that all the key decision-makers were present to interview me simultaneously. Although unexpected, it wasn't a major issue. In total, I was interviewed in a group setting by three individuals: two ACDs and the Chief Creative Officer. Given the firm's focus on B2B work, they inquired about how my past experience was relevant to that sector and presented me with hypothetical business scenarios, which are fairly standard interview questions. Towards the end of the scheduled hour, two interviewers departed, leaving the ACD who initially called me to review my portfolio. As I was departing, that ACD contacted me to request my references. After I provided them, I received an offer a day or two later. We negotiated, and I accepted. It was a smooth process!

Got referred in by a friend. Had two initial phone screens with a recruiter and then a quick in-person with the hiring manager. He then had me come back to spend more time with him and meet the CEO, VP of Marketing Strategy, and two other Account Directors. After that, I had to come in and present a case study analysis. The next steps didn't take long, and I didn't have to chase anyone for updates because things moved at a good pace. I got offered the job a day or two after my presentation, which was actually a bit sooner than I expected. I was happy to see they were adding more rigor to their interviews, especially since I'd seen some mixed reviews online and heard things during my own research. The case study and presentation step, which seemed new, really showed me they were trying to understand how candidates think and if they'd fit the culture. I've also suggested other ways they could assess candidates, and they're considering them. The culture seems fun and supportive! They were upfront about their lack of established processes but are working on fixing that, and it was good to hear they've hired or are about to hire a new HR Director to help with things like onboarding. My background in small, fast-growing businesses means I'm used to companies being in this stage of developing processes, especially when strategy shifts happen due to market changes. I'm optimistic that BDS will keep bringing in the right people to improve things. So far, the people I've met seem really great, smart, and caring. I'll know more about the day-to-day life at BDS eventually, but the interview process felt well-handled from my point of view.

There was one phone interview and then two in-person interviews with about 2-3 team members. It took about 3 weeks total. The team was super nice, fun, and welcoming; the interview process was actually enjoyable. Bulldog really wants to find and keep great talent, and you could tell from the questions they asked, which were focused on culture fit. They also offer a lot of great benefits.
