This was a multi step process with a phone interview and a scheduled Zoom call with hiring manager and another Safety Coordinator that was about an hour long. We went over scenarios and if I had any experience with vehicle inspections, forklifts and what was my understanding of the 1910.

So I interviewed for a Pricing Analyst role and honestly the process was really disappointing. It took like 3 months and I talked to so many people: the recruiter, the hiring manager, a peer, a senior manager, and even the VP. I put in a lot of time but the communication was bad, like slow or confusing. After the last interview, I waited like 2 weeks with no news and then they just said they were still figuring things out. I followed up again 'cause they said I'd hear by Friday, but Friday passed and nothing. Eventually they told me I didn't get it. I get that not everyone gets the job, but I expected better and more respect, especially since there were so many interviews. Hope they can fix their communication and timing.

I had a phone call with the hiring manager to discuss the role. Then, I had a video call with another manager in the region. My final interview was with the VP of the region. A few days later, the hiring manager called to say everyone liked me and they wanted to give me a verbal offer, pending a background and drug test. I said I'd accept, my background check should be fine, but I might not pass the drug test due to my medical cannabis prescription. The HR person didn't know the company policy, guessed it wouldn't be a problem, and said they'd send paperwork that night. I never got it. I tried reaching them for two weeks via text, email, and calls, but they ghosted me, which made me feel like I dodged a bullet given their lack of communication and ownership.

In mid-April, I talked to the hiring manager. Then I had a video call with someone in the same role but for a different state. Two weeks passed with no word, then the hiring manager texted me asking if I could interview with the VP of the region the very next day. During the interview with the VP, I shared some recruiting strategies that he said they needed. I felt like I aced it. That same afternoon, the hiring manager texted me asking if I was free to “discuss next steps.” He told me the VP was impressed and that he would be in touch the next day, making me think he was going to offer me the job. Then, silence again. I called on Tuesday and again on Thursday, and finally he texted back saying “still working through interviews, will update you early next week.” Seriously? two weeks ago, I had a final interview and now he's interviewing other people. It's really disappointing to deal with an HR Professional who isn't upfront and honest with candidates. After reading the previous HR interview review, it's obvious Builders First Source doesn't have a good HR department.
