First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Buchwald.
HR Manager
I went through a lengthy interview process, met with several higher-ups, and had great interviews, but then they ghosted me. I didn't get any feedback or follow-through. I got an email saying I wasn't selected, but then it also said I was still in the running, which was super confusing and unprofessional. I asked for clarification, and they finally responded that it was a typo and I was still in the running. It's been months and I still haven't heard back, which felt really misleading.
- Have you encountered situations involving anger management or substance abuse issues?
Talent Agent Assistant
I went through several interviews for this role. The first one was with the agent I would have been assisting, and it was really chill – just a chat about my resume, the job, and some jokes. The second interview, with the department head, was also easy but felt kind of staged. She hit me with a bunch of super standard interview questions like 'greatest accomplishment,' 'challenge overcome,' 'biggest strength,' and 'weakness.' It felt like the more by-the-book my answers were, the better she thought I was doing. The whole thing was pretty laid-back, they seemed more interested in my personality than my specific skills for the interview.
- What is the most significant challenge you have faced and overcome?
- Describe a major obstacle you've surmounted.
- What would you consider your greatest accomplishment?
Assistant
The process started with a preliminary interview with the HR manager via web video. They said that an email notification would be sent by early the next week regarding moving forward in the hiring process or not getting an offer. The secondary interview was with the director of business operations. No next steps were stated and Buchwald never emailed about moving forward or not getting an offer.
- Can you tell me about your greatest weakness?
Intern
I had a phone call with my future supervisor, who was really flexible about finding a good time to chat. Then, I went to the office and met with two intern supervisors. They were super friendly and made me feel right at home. We chatted about my background and the role, and they asked about my interest in the industry. About a week or two later, they let me know I got the offer.
- What sparked your interest in the Talent Agency business?
