First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brut.
Product Manager
First, an in-person HR interview that lasted 1 hour. Then, a 30-minute video call with my future manager (n+1). After that, another 30-minute video call with the next person up (n+2). Finally, a 15-minute video call for culture fit.
- Could you describe the technologies in use?
- What do you see as the strengths and weaknesses of these technologies?
- What have been the main difficulties or challenges encountered?
Account Director
I was contacted on Linkedin by the sales team to join them. I had two interviews with people from the team (my future N+1 and N+2). The process went well overall, but I ultimately declined after looking into reviews of the company (through people internally) and because I found them too pushy (the 2nd interview was clearly to charm and convince me) and a bit too much in their own bubble ("we want game changers, you are a game changer").
- Can you tell me about your experience and the types of projects you've worked on?
Producer
A recruiter reached out to me to schedule an interview for the following week. When we connected for the call, the recruiter repeatedly asked the same questions. I tried to get more info about the job description and the future of the role, but they seemed confused. They even mentioned they weren't sure if this role would still be needed after the current project ends. I never got past this first round, and they didn't reply after I followed up with emails. Honestly, the way this interview was handled makes me not want to work here.
- What makes you want to join this company?
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
Content Strategist
I applied online and went through a couple of phone interviews. Then I had an in-person interview at their Soho office in NYC with the hiring manager and the Chief Content Officer. After about a month of interviews, I was told I got the job and signed an offer letter. I gave my two weeks notice at my old job, but then they rescinded the offer due to a strategy change from their parent company in Paris. It was a pretty unprofessional experience overall.
- Can you describe how you've grown an audience in past roles?
