Project Manager
This was one of the best interview processes I've been through. The recruiter was really on top of things, stayed in touch the whole time, and was always there to help with any questions I had.
- Describe a time you were asked to completely change direction on a project mid-way. What was your response, and what actions did you take?
Project Manager
I interviewed with the hiring manager and we had a hard stop in 30 minutes. She was looking at two screens due to client deliverables. She was disengaged and barely paid attention, making me feel like my time and experience didn’t matter. It was evident that this was a mere formality and that a candidate had likely already been chosen. This was one of the most unprofessional interview experiences I’ve had in my 20-year career. If this is reflective of the company’s culture, I’m grateful to have seen the red flags early.
- Tell me about your background, you have 20 minutes to answer and for me to ask questions.
Media Director
The first interview with HR went well, it was pretty standard with typical questions about my experience and the role. The second interview wasn't difficult, but felt a bit off. I did miss one question, but other than that, my experience seemed to align well with the job description. I was really hoping for this role as it was a great opportunity and right in my field, but I didn't get it. Later, I found out that a crucial part of the job wasn't mentioned in the posting.
- Can you describe a typical day in your life as a media buyer?
Account Director
First, there was an HR phone interview. Then, a video interview with the direct report supervisor was scheduled. They had to reschedule that interview because of a scheduling conflict on their end. I was understanding about it, but they were not very flexible with my availability because I had a vacation planned and couldn't interview then. Since they were the ones who rescheduled, this felt like a red flag.
- Can you introduce yourself and share your career goals?
