Scheduled an in-person interview. I met with the supervisor for the Editorial Internship, and after answering a few questions, I completed a test covering proofreading, spelling, and other skills. Got the job offer via email about a week later.

I came from another publishing house with a similar strategy of acquiring new authors and editing practices, so I was expecting a traditional editing exam and conceptual editing questions. Instead, I was asked about all processes of my former job. I realized afterward they were only asking me in to basically steal ideas about the previous company. I approached them for a job as I had relocated, and I'm not even sure they were hiring.

The interview process was long and not worth it. The communication was poor and it was very uncomfortable throughout. Upper management seems sleazy and has a 'little man syndrome.' The whole company has this 'little man syndrome,' constantly criticizing other publishing houses and their operations while they're facing similar struggles.
