It was a pretty chill and informative interview process. I got to chat with a bunch of account and sales managers to really get a feel for the role and what the company needed. They were super open about my background and what I knew from school, and I honestly didn't feel a ton of pressure at all.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I sent in my resume online and got a call the next day. Then, two days later, I had a full phone interview with the Account Director. The following week, I went into the office for interviews with nine people, including the owner. Some of these chats were really relaxed, just talking about my past jobs and connections. Others had specific questions, some seemed to make them up on the spot, and a couple were pretty quiet. One guy from creative just asked 'so why are you here?' and that was pretty much it.

Behavioral

Had a couple of phone screens and then two in-person interviews. One was with a Senior Manager, who seemed like a real egomaniac. The other was with a staff member, who looked totally exhausted and beat down. They were sharing horror stories about the senior manager, like temper tantrums and getting yelled at for stuff that wasn't their fault. They said they often work until 9 pm and really needed someone to be a 'shield' for them against the crazy senior management. These poor employees were even sharing desks because the space was so cramped, and everyone got yelled at when the boss went on a rampage. I honestly thought about leaving mid-interview because it was obvious I didn't want to work there.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process included a phone interview, a personality test, and a 2-hour in-person interview, all completed within two days, which I appreciated as I dislike drawn-out processes. It was exhausting, with two hours of talking and repeating myself because each person asked the same questions. An interviewer also asked me why I don't go back to places I've freelanced, which I found inappropriate.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Given your history of freelancing, why are you seeking a full-time, permanent position now?
  • What is your reasoning for not returning to your previous freelance employers?
  • As a project manager, why do you emphasize the importance of innovative work?
