Staff Attorney
The interview process was horrible. One of the interviewers was nice and professional, but the HR lady was a knob. I knew right away I wasn't getting the job because I didn't attend church, which is illegal for them to ask me, no matter how they try to carefully frame it.
- Can you tell me about your involvement with church?

I applied online. The interview was a panel. Two interviewers had to leave mid-interview to deal with urgent issues. I was kind of taken aback when they got irritated that I hadn't provided a salary range upfront, confronting me about it as if I should have already done the math on the cost of living in the area. They said they'd give me feedback in two weeks, but they missed that deadline and I had to chase them for a generic response, even though the job was already off their internal site, so it was pretty clear they'd already made a decision. Funny how a religious company would lie.
- What was the reason you didn't provide a salary expectation?
Underwriter
I talked to someone from HR at a job fair in September about an upcoming underwriting position they were looking to fill in January. I applied online and was contacted about a month later to schedule an interview. During the interview I met with three different underwriters and two people from HR. The interview lasted about two hours but everyone was so friendly it didn't seem that long. About 5 weeks later they called and said they hired for the interviewed position internally but offered another position. I said I'd think about it to play it cool and e-mailed them a couple days later accepting the position.
- Were you asked questions about working in groups?
- Were you asked questions about how you get along with others?
- Were you asked if you knew anything about Brotherhood?
Attorney
had an initial phone interview with a few people, HR included. Then there was a group interview with 6 legal department members, which involved a sit-down meeting, a tour of the campus, and lunch off-site. The whole thing took about 4 hours. Even though the interview seemed to go really well, I got ghosted and no one ever responded to my follow-up emails to any of the interviewers.
- Can you describe yourself in three words?
- Any other corporate nonsense?
