Sales Manager
Applied online. Got a call from the District Manager (DM) in under a week. Scheduled a 1-hour phone interview with him for the following week. It was a good chat, he was looking for specific traits for the store, staff, and location. Then, I had to interview face-to-face with the DM. I was ready, I knew my numbers cold (last year vs goal, average daily sales, store gross, P&L). Definitely know yours or have it handy. This place is all about results and high expectations; managers must know their stuff. This interview was scheduled for 10 days out, went well, pretty laid-back, conversational, and lasted over an hour. The DM was really open to questions and knew his district, the store, and the staff inside and out. DMs often sell in stores, and visits are frequent – mine was fun. After that, I had another phone interview with a different DM. Seemed like a formality, but it was interesting. This one focused a lot on my past experience, how adaptable I am, and asked specific things about building teams, training, and sales. It was also about an hour, conversational, and nice. Got an offer a few days later and took it.

Sales Manager
I applied online and got contacted about a week later by the District Manager to set up a face-to-face interview a few days later. After the interview, I didn't hear back for a week, so I called the DM and left a voicemail. Still no response. I had to chase this job down constantly leaving voicemails and even texted the DM, which is how she finally responded that I was still in the running and she was setting up phone interviews with the RVP.
- Can you describe your most challenging customer service situation? What was the problem, what steps did you take, and what was the outcome?
