Marketing Coordinator
I had a very brief 5-minute initial phone screening with the hiring manager, then we had two longer Zoom interviews, about 45 minutes each. One of them was on a Sunday, which was a bit unusual but I was fine with it. The first Zoom call was mostly just to give me information about the job and the company. The second one went deeper into team dynamics and the work environment. I thought it went well and felt like I had a good chat with the hiring manager. I even sent a thank-you email. But then, after the interviews, I heard nothing back at all. It was disappointing because I would have expected some basic courtesy to let me know they went with someone else, especially after multiple interviews.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
- Can you give an example of a challenge you faced at work and how you managed it?
- Are you available to work weekends when necessary?
Marketing Coordinator
It was pretty casual. I first talked to the hiring manager on the phone, then they had me come in for an in-person meeting. While I was there, I met the sales team and got a tour of the place. They made an offer, and I had two days to talk about the salary. After I accepted, I had to do some paperwork with HR, go to one place for fingerprints, and another for a drug test. HR let me know when everything cleared. I was then set up for a 3-day paid orientation before starting.
- What's your approach to prioritizing tasks?
- How do you handle constant interruptions during the workday?
- Describe how you would manage a disagreement with a colleague.
Marketing Coordinator
I applied online for the Marketing Coordinator role and got a call the same day about scheduling a phone interview. They set it up for Friday afternoon and told me to research the company and position beforehand. This isn't the first time; I'd applied for another role a few months back and had a similar experience with the recruiter calling to set up a phone interview. However, neither time did the recruiter actually call for the interview, nor did they send an email to cancel or reschedule.
- Could you please research our company before our phone interview?
