Went to a physical location to see what was going on with a stale application, got a phone interview soon after, then scheduled an in-person within a day. Interview was with branch manager, assist manager, and a regional manager. Felt like it went well but got declined via a noreply email and HR hasn't responded to anything since. Not sure what I did wrong

I had an interview with 4 people from the Credit Department all at once. They each asked me some questions and talked about their jobs. They were nice and asked good questions, and I got to ask them questions too. I didn't take the job because I accepted another offer, but it was a tough choice. They seemed like a good team to work with.

Applying for a high-level position can involve a lot of work: filling out the application, writing extensive answers to questions, initial screening, and preparing for the interview. For higher-level positions, you likely have an extensive background. But if you don't have a Plan B for when the hiring manager isn't prepared, you could easily lose the opportunity. You need to be ready for vague questions like 'Tell me about yourself.' Make sure you go in with a powerful elevator speech that highlights your strengths and successes. Hopefully, that will lead to meaningful questions that allow you to provide information the manager is interested in. Use the job posting to understand what's important, and then design your elevator speech with that in mind.

I was recruited through LinkedIn for this Manager role. The interview process took about a month, with one interview per week. It included a phone screen, a recruiter call, a hiring manager interview, and an interview with an executive VP. I was asked to prepare a presentation for the CEO and others and was told they would email with a date. I then received an email requesting my materials, specifically facilitator guides, which I wasn't willing to share for free without a job offer. I offered to bring an example, but they didn't proceed. After a week of no contact, I followed up about the presentation and was informed they had moved on with another candidate. It felt like they were trying to get free ideas.
