Product Owner
After a long 5 month interview process with many conversations, I was given a verbal offer. However, the company stopped communicating with me afterwards. The people I interacted with were nice, but the process was poorly handled.
- How do you approach working in cross-functional teams?
Research Specialist
So I had a phone screening with HR, that was like 30 minutes. Then I had a video call with the head of the department, another 30 minutes. After that, I had a video call with two other heads of departments, that was 45 minutes. But in the end, I just got a rejection form letter.
- What is your approach when faced with conflicting deadlines from multiple departments that you cannot meet?
- How would you handle a situation where multiple departments assign you deadlines that you are unable to meet?
Data Analyst
So we had a recruiter call first, then a technical screen, and then a take-home assignment. After that, it was an onsite interview. The interview included behavioral and technical questions. They asked me what a data analyst is, what I know about the company, my SQL knowledge on a scale of 1-10, and about Pivot Tables and PowerBI. They also asked where I see myself in years.
- Questions about SQL Joins, Python DataFrames, and an Excel assessment were posed.

Talent Acquisition Specialist
I applied for a role that was a little junior, but a role I had a ton of experience within the same industry, so it would be a very easy transition. I was genuinely interested in the company, so the title and salary were less important to me. Had a great call with the Senior Leader whose team this is, then met two teammates. Had a great call with them. We jived, we laughed, we had rapport. I know my answers to their questions were solid, as I seriously have a ton of relevant and related experience to offer. After that, I never heard from them again. I sent some thoughtful emails afterward, thanking them for their time, reaffirming my interest in the role. I even followed up with the Senior Leader- nothing- silence. I would expect them to at least close the loop. I really don’t understand how you can treat your candidates that way. Such a shame. I really admired this company, prior to this experience. It’s not that hard to tell someone one way or another, it literally takes two minutes.
- Could you describe your recruitment process when working with hiring managers?
