First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Broad River Retail.
General Manager
The interviewer was nice and professional, but the job wasn't what it seemed. To get this manager role, you first had to do a mentorship program for 6 months to over a year. You could only skip this if you already had experience selling and working with BRR and/or Ashley Furniture.
- What makes you want to move from B2B to retail sales?
Senior Talent Acquisition Manager
The TA Team at Broad River Retail seem to just be clerks for the hiring manager's demands instead of helping the company find the best talent. My interviews for a Manager position on the TA Team were rescheduled 3 times! The candidate experience is awful because TA keeps changing their mind to please a hiring manager. The company doesn't support its leaders.
- Can you describe your experience with hourly hiring programs?
Talent Manager
I had a screening interview first, then a video panel with some peers, followed by another video panel with team members. After that, I had a video call with the hiring manager. The final stage was an on-site interview, which was about 2.5 hours long and involved the hiring manager, team members, and two leaders.
- How do I stay up-to-date on the latest trends in L&D?
Guest Services Representative
I had two interviews for a full-time job. First, I talked with the General Manager and then with the Guest Services Supervisor. The GM asked about my computer skills and how I'd handle customer issues. The Supervisor went into more detail about the job and what to expect during the year.
- When busy times mean processing sales and creating a work backlog, how do you catch up and ensure all tasks are completed?
- Regarding the retail requirement for basic computer knowledge and modern payment processing, what is your level of technological expertise?
- Given that this job can have a demanding schedule at certain times of the year, how comfortable are you with working nights, weekends, and holidays?
