We had team calls with HR, the Manager, and colleagues from various departments. It was an open and transparent atmosphere. We talked about the current company situation, ideas for improvement, the impact of the position on the business and the department, and personal development.

I applied online and connected with a recruiter. I was keen to know more about the team and company, but my hopes diminished after the phone screening. The recruiter was quite late, about 10-15 minutes, which wasn't the main issue. However, they were rude and distant in their questions, responses, and general interaction. When I asked them to rephrase a question because it was unclear, they just said 'ummm' and repeated it with a more condescending tone. When I tried to ask about the role, they rudely pointed out I should have already known from the job description. This was my first time with such an unapproachable recruiter. I was looking forward to learning about the company culture, but after their initial remarks and patronizing tone, I lost all interest in the job.

The interview process was quite a hassle. Scheduling took about two weeks with a lot of back-and-forth. I was upfront about my salary expectations. Interestingly, while I was in the middle of interviewing, another recruiter reached out to set up the very same interview I was already participating in – definitely a sign of poor communication. After a really good interview with the team, it was disappointing to be offered a salary 20k under what I was asking for and a position that was lower than advertised, despite being qualified for the original posting. They did come back with a counteroffer, increasing it by 6k, but I had to decline because it was still below my expectations and the overall experience had been less than ideal.
