First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brilla Public Charter Schools.
Teacher
The interview process was comprehensive and beneficial. I learned quite a bit, and everyone was really friendly. I'd suggest taking a job here if you have the chance. It involves a tour of the school and a practice lesson in a classroom.
- Could you introduce yourself and share your hobbies outside of work?
Director of Operations
It was a quick and thorough interview process. They were strategically evaluating culture fit, performance, subject matter expertise, and drive. Typically, it takes about two to three weeks from applying to starting here.
- What motivated you to apply to our company?
Teacher
The interview process is quite thorough. First, you'll do a teaching demo. Then, you'll meet with some school leaders. After that, you'll have interviews with teachers at the school. This teacher interview is a really good chance for you to ask anything about school culture, and to bring up any questions you might not feel totally comfortable asking the school leaders directly.
- Can you tell me about a time you failed and what you learned from it?
English Teacher
I had an interview via Zoom, but the interviewer's camera was off the whole time. She mentioned she had just gotten her vaccine the day before, which was why she had to cancel on me last minute. She shared a lot of personal information. The interview was supposed to be on Zoom, and when it finally happened, her camera was off, as were the cameras of the other people listening in, even though my camera was on for the entire duration. She repeatedly told me that the school has a partnership with the Catholic Church, which I found concerning.
- The interview was conducted via Zoom after she canceled on me multiple times.
- During the interview, her camera was off, and so were the cameras of the other individuals who were listening.
- My camera was on for the entire interview.
