This was a negative and disrespectful interview experience. An interview was canceled last minute, and when it finally happened, it was very brief and the interviewer ended it abruptly, not allowing time for questions. Since my resume showed a six-week gap in employment, I was asked what I had been doing during that time, so it seems like they dissect everything. This was not a scam, as the interviewer's appearance matched their LinkedIn profile.
- Can you explain your recent employment gap?

A recruiter reached out about a few roles, and I applied online to two that I was really qualified for. They contacted me quickly to set up an interview and I answered some questions during the setup. On the interview day, they called about 20 minutes before to say they were going in a different direction for both jobs and would contact me when they had updated job descriptions. The next day, I was told they were moving forward with other candidates who were a better fit. I'm not sure if they updated the roles or not since I never got the new job descriptions. I appreciate being told I was out, but the whole thing felt really unprofessional. I get it if they messed up scheduling or found someone better, but they should have just said so. The way they handled it made it seem like they were lying, and I definitely won't apply to their future openings because of this negative and unprofessional experience.

The hiring process felt deceitful and aggressive. Despite the company's supposed focus on supporting individuals with mental health challenges, the interview approach was demanding. Candidates are given only one day to complete extensive technical and personal questions. Following this, the offered salary is presented as very low, akin to minimum wage. During negotiations, there was misleading communication about the starting rate, and the contract itself was ambiguously worded to obscure the actual initial compensation. The recruiter explicitly stated an hourly rate of $60 via email, but the contract listed $25. There's an intended multi-month 'training' period at this significantly lower wage, with the duration not clearly specified in the contract. This approach appears to waste candidates' time, as advertising the real wages would likely deter many from applying if the pay is comparable to retail jobs.
- Respond to numerous technical and personal inquiries in a lengthy format.

It was a three round interview process. First, a 10-15 minute screen with the recruiter. Then, an at-home written exercise which was very simple. The second round was a panel interview with two potential managers, and it was very intensive, so be prepared for a lot of questions about past experiences and work ethic and approach. The last interview was with a senior manager and it was a role playing scenario where you act out 2-3 scenarios. Very simple, just don’t overthink it and you’ll be fine. Overall it was one of the best interview experiences I have had.
