First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brighton House Associates.
Investment Banking Intern
The interview was pretty chill and mostly behavioral, no tough technical questions. The CEO was really relaxed and focused on my experiences and skills.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What kind of hobbies do you have?
Manager Research
The lead recruiter did a great job organizing everything. First, there was a 45-minute phone screen with the recruiter. Then, later that week, I went in person for meetings with the recruiter, sales manager, CEO, a relationship manager, and a salesperson. A few days after that, I had a second round of in-person interviews with the COO and CEO for some final questions. The whole thing was super efficient and well-run, taking only 10 days from applying to the last interview. The recruiter always followed up when he said he would, and I never felt like my time in the office was wasted.
- I was asked about my future career ambitions.
- They inquired about my interest in the company.
- They also asked how my past experiences were applicable to the role.
Research Analyst
I applied online and heard back from HR within about a month. We had a call for about 30-45 mins where he thought I was a good fit. A week later, I was invited for an in-person interview. The HR person greeted me and interviewed me for a few minutes alongside a manager. Then, 2-3 more managers came in for interviews. The Head of Research then interviewed me. They asked me to come back the following week to speak with the CEO and founder. After that, about a week later, I got an offer via email. It was pretty thorough but straightforward. They really focus on personality fit, which I think is super important given the client-facing nature of the role and the company vibe.
- Could you discuss your understanding of the alternative investment landscape, detailing the different strategies, structures, and methods employed by hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds?
Research Associate
I spoke with a bunch of the team, and spent the most time with the person who would be my boss. The questions were pretty standard, but they really cared about if I was skilled and if I'd fit into the culture. I went over my CV with them to show how I fit the job. After those chats, I had a quick meeting with the CEO.
- Can you tell me about your favorite course and explain your reasoning?
