First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at BrightInsight.
Global Account Director
I had a round with the recruiter, then the hiring manager and three team members. I put in a lot of work for this, and then got ghosted. Weirdly, most of the people I talked to aren't even at the company anymore based on LinkedIn. That tells you something.
- Describe how you deal with working in unclear or uncertain situations.
Software Engineer
My interview process involved a discussion about architecture and design. They presented me with a diagram and asked me to explain what it represented, describe it, and suggest improvements. Following this, I had a second interview where we explored these topics in more depth.
- Can you explain this diagram to me?
- What does the diagram represent?
- Describe the diagram.
QA Lead Engineer
So the interview for QA Lead Engineer started with an aptitude test, then there were three more rounds of interviews. The TA guy Joshua Jenkins was really helpful and kept me in the loop about everything, making it a smooth process.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
- How do you manage a team of people, both offshore and onshore?
- Tell me about your experience with API testing.
Data Architect
I'll just post the correspondence here for you to judge for yourself. I've seen similar experiences on Glassdoor; not sure why they reach out and interview only to go silent completely. It's very unprofessional. I lost all my respect for them that I had from viewing the CEO on YouTube. They asked when I had time to connect over a call to discuss the Data Architect role and next steps. I said I would be available today after 2 pm eastern time. They asked how today at 4:30 pm (ET) sounds. I said sure will work. Positive phone feedback; they 'really like' me; will make a decision towards the end of the year. Towards the end of the year, I followed up on our discussion. Any updates/ changes so far with the Data Architect position? I asked if this position is still open. I'd appreciate any feedback. I thanked them for their engagement earlier on. Can you afford a simple response about our earlier conversation?
- What's your experience with ETL?
- How about your experience building data platforms?
