First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Briggs & Veselka.
Manager
The process was very professional, and the firm was great. I liked the location and the people I met. They treated me really well during conversations with the firm leaders. I met with the firm's leaders and partners at their location in Houston.
- Tell me about your growth goals.
Audit Supervisor
It was an easy process. I met with two partners, one senior manager, and two peers. They asked only behavioral questions, no technical ones. The people were nice and the work environment seems flexible. The insurance isn't the best but it's okay.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
Intern
I had an interview with a manager and another intern, which felt okay, though the seating arrangement made it a bit awkward. The second interview was with two stakeholders. One seemed disengaged from the start, despite sharing a common interest in UH Cougars. The other stakeholder was pleasant but corrected my grammar, which felt a bit rude. After touring the office and meeting some employees, it became clear this might not be the best place to begin a career. I also observed a gentleman flirting with someone showing me the lunch area. I didn't hear back from BAV for two months.
- Could you tell me who else I will be interviewing with?
Senior Tax Associate
The interview process was a negative experience overall. The initial phone call with HR was also bad, which should have been a warning sign for the main interview. All the Glassdoor reviews about a toxic work culture seemed accurate. I felt like I was constantly being talked down to throughout the process.
- Could you elaborate on your relevant experience?
