Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bridgepoint Consulting.
Consultant
The interview process for this Consultant role had 3 rounds. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a one-hour session with the director, and concluded with a panel interview with the hiring managers. The overall process wasn't too difficult, featuring standard interview questions. They seemed to prioritize a cultural fit over specific skills. It was noticeable that the company culture may not be very diverse, as the interviewers, leadership, and employees seemed to share a particular profile.
- What motivates you to pursue a career in consulting with Bridgepoint?
Consultant
I first got a call from a recruiter after I sent in my application. The whole thing took about three weeks and was pretty simple. On the first call, I talked about what I wanted to do and my school stuff. The recruiter told me about the job and let me ask questions about the company. The next interview was a Skype call with some managers. I talked more about my background. Since I'm about to graduate, they asked a lot about my classes and internships, how I deal with disagreements on a team, and other behavioral questions. The technical part was different from other tech consulting jobs - more about what languages I knew and examples of coding projects I'd done. They mainly wanted to see if my personality would be a good fit for the team. I got an offer the day after.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced failure and how you dealt with it?
- Describe your approach to handling conflicts.
- Which programming language do you like the most?
Consultant
I had a first interview with a BP recruiter, which led to a second round. The recruiter asked very basic questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'Why do you want to work for us'. After that, I interviewed with a team manager. There weren't any tough questions; we just went over my resume and discussed my previous experiences and my interest in BP. I think they're looking for someone with strong computer skills who can quickly get up to speed with the technical environment, or someone with an engineering background, like experience in ERP or programming languages.
- What makes you stand out?
