First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP.
Legal Extern
It was a quick zoom call with a partner. He asked about my previous work and what new skills I hoped to gain. He was nice and easy to chat with. He mentioned that as a legal extern, I'd be put on a team and would work on various tasks during the semester.
- What kind of assignments are you interested in gaining experience with?
Associate Attorney
I had an initial chat with the team lead and then a follow-up with a partner at the firm. Both meetings went pretty smoothly, with standard questions. The firm felt approachable and like a place I could see myself working.
- Can you tell me about your experience managing and developing cases, and how you feel about handling them on your own?
- Tell me about your experience handling cases and working them up, and your comfort level working individually.
Associate
The interview process was pretty simple. No curveballs. I had one interview with two partners and an associate. It seemed like they were really trying to figure out my background and what I was interested in.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your experience in litigation.
- What are your career goals for your next position?
Legal Secretary
So I had three interviews for this job. First, I spoke with a recruiter who also seemed to be in marketing. Then, I met with the supervisor for all the legal support staff. Finally, I interviewed with a senior legal secretary. I felt pretty good about all of them, sending thank you notes after each one to show I was still interested. But then... nothing. Total silence. I followed up five days after the last interview, and still no reply. It was pretty unprofessional after all that, especially since I really wanted the job. A simple rejection would've been better than being completely ignored.
