First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Brave Health.
Mental Health Therapist
The initial interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked about my experience working with the specific population they serve, how I'd handle schedule changes, and for an example of my interaction with a supervisor.
- How do you handle changes to your work schedule?

Got an email to set up a 30 min call with a recruiter. We chatted about my background, the job, and Brave Health’s mission. Recruiter gave a good rundown of what’s expected. After that, I was asked to a virtual chat with the Marketing Manager. That interview was about 45 mins. The Marketing Manager went into more detail about the company and the role, which is a new gig with lots of responsibility and client interaction. They asked about my past work, why I was interested, and how I’d be a good fit. The questions were pretty direct, focusing on how I’d manage the job. Even though I didn’t get the job, it was a useful experience because I figured out the current setup and pay weren’t what I wanted long-term. It seems like a good role for someone wanting a client-focused job at a growing company, but it wasn't right for me.

I had a 35 minute phone interview that went well. During the call I was asked if I had any upcoming appointments in the next few months that would interrupt training. I told the interviewer I was pregnant and only needed to attend monthly appointments with my doctor. I noticed a pause but didn’t think much of it because I was told I was a “great candidate”. It’s disheartening to think I possibly wasn’t selected because of that but I guess I’ll never know.
- Could you share three aspects of Brave that appealed to you?
Partner Success Coordinator
The interview process is... interesting. There were 4 rounds total. The first being an initial phone screen, fairly easy with 3-4 questions related to experience. You're then offered a face to face (virtual), interview with the next person, That one was decent and the person interviewing is in marketing, and their personality was warm and welcoming. The questions asked during that one were similar past related work experience, and to describe situations you've been in and how you worked through them. The next interview was with someone on the actual team you'd be on... That one... painful. The person was very brash, borderline rude and had 0 personality at all and it felt like they already knew at that point they did not want you to advance. The final interview was to give a presentation of what Brave Health is, as if you are "selling" to a partner. I was given a PowerPoint, and asked to give a brief explanation of each slide. I did days of research, watched videos to better help me understand who they were as a company. I was called a few days later to be denied an offer and told the only reason was "presentation skill". I feel like my time was wasted and the interview process is difficult and time consuming for absolutely no reason.
