The interview process was quite disorganized. It started with a phone screen on 1/26, followed by two more video screenings with different managers who asked the same questions. Then, there were two mock calls with several managers, but the sales manager wasn't present for these. After the final mock call on 2/15, I didn't hear back until 3/20, and that was only after I followed up multiple times. The people were great, but the process lacked organization and motivation.

I had an initial phone chat with HR back in early March. I didn't hear anything after a couple of emails until late April. Since I was really needing a job and a friend had recommended this place, I went in for an in-person interview in mid-May. The interview itself was super awkward and unprofessional. Two people interviewed me at once, and one had only been there a month. One interviewer kept rolling their eyes and cutting off the other person multiple times during the whole thing. Still, I thought it went okay and was hoping for good news. It's now been a month, and I haven't heard a peep from Brandmuscle despite emailing the interviewers and HR. Basically, I was hesitant to believe the other bad reviews I saw, but seriously, don't make the same mistake I did. The people I spoke with were just unprofessional and strung me along way too long.

I applied online and got a call from HR. Then I went for an in-person interview at their office in Willis Tower. It was a short interview with a Creative Director, who asked some basic questions. Afterward, they said they'd be in touch. A week later, HR called and invited me for a second interview. I felt they didn't value my time during the first interview, and the Creative Director seemed unprepared. My impression was that the company might be good for recent grads willing to accept less than 50K, which wasn't me. I asked about salary, and they declined to provide a range, asking my expectations instead. I stated my range started at 55K. The next day, they emailed saying that was more than they wanted to spend. It seems like a young company with inexperienced, possibly underpaid staff. It might be a good opportunity for some, but it wasn't for me. I think the reviews online are mostly accurate if you ignore the overly positive HR reviews and the very negative former employee reviews.

First, there was a short phone call with HR that was basically getting to know you. Then, I interviewed with two people, a manager and the director of the department, in the director's office. They asked more in-depth questions and we looked over my online and print design portfolios. I also had to do a skill test where I redesigned a campaign, like changing the size of an ad while keeping the brand standards. The last interview was with the director of client services and the overall director of graphics, who has a higher position than the director from the second interview. It was a bit more casual and lasted about 45 minutes to an hour. I got the job offer two days later.
