First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Branding Brand.
Software Engineer
The interview process included a multiple-choice quiz on JavaScript, React, and TypeScript, followed by a two-part, two-hour technical interview. The quiz was straightforward, but the technical interview was quite challenging. The first interviewer seemed disengaged, distracted by his computer, and uninterested in my background, immediately asking me to start a coding exercise without much attention, even missing an error I made. He provided no feedback or discussion on the technical questions and seemed uninterested in my responses. The second interviewer was much more engaged, interested in my thought process and how I approached problems. Although I didn't get an offer, I wasn't surprised and wouldn't have accepted. I strongly suggest Branding Brand review their interview process.

- Technical questions regarding JavaScript
- A couple of basic coding exercises using React
Software Engineer
The interview process was terrible. It started with a simple React/JavaScript multiple-choice test. Then, there was a 2-hour Zoom call with a technical interviewer and some higher-ups. The technical person asked about my background but kept interrupting me, looking at his phone or another screen while I was talking. We didn't discuss the company. Within 5 minutes, I was asked to code a React app and explain my thought process. The interviewer remained silent and distracted by his phone throughout. I was halfway through building a shopping cart with add and remove item functionality when he abruptly ended the interview, citing an emergency and saying they'd be in touch. I would not want to work with people who behave like this, even if offered the job.
- Can you build a shopping cart using React?
Software Engineer
Started with a recruiter call. Then a 2-hour interview with a Branding Brand Engineer and the Engineering Manager, which was more technical, involving a React coding challenge and around 10 conceptual questions (some on newer React features). The manager's part was more behavioral, covering work background. The third interview was a 1-hour session with a Branding Brand Client's Lead Engineer. This was split between a React technical challenge and conceptual software engineering questions plus workplace situations. The final interview was with a Branding Brand Client's Engineering Manager, focusing on culture fit, likely under an hour. Communication was good throughout, with practical, day-to-day challenges discussed rather than brain teasers. Interviewers were nice and allowed time for questions.
- Reason for wanting to join Branding Brand?
- Questions about React concepts in general.
- Could you build a React component from scratch based on the prompt?
