The interview process began with a one-way video interview, which felt a bit awkward but served its purpose for screening. This was followed by a phone call with the hiring manager, and then a video call with both the hiring manager and another team member. A significant part of the process involved completing a test project. After submitting the test project, there was a personality test. The final stage was an interview with company partners. A drawback was the lack of communication after submitting the test project, leaving me unsure if I was still being considered or why. It would be beneficial to receive some form of notification or feedback, especially when candidates invest considerable time in the process.

The interview process included a one-way digital video interview where I had to upload a response, followed by a live video call with their Marketing VP and CEO. The questions in both parts were pretty typical, mostly covering my general skills and experience. During the in-person part, I quickly realized this company wasn't the right fit for me. The VP was nice enough, but the CEO was both aggressive and dismissive during the brief time he was present, which was really off-putting. It wasn't meant to be, and realizing that is a big part of interviewing anyway. This review is based on my bad experience with senior leadership, not on not getting the job. If that interview is any reflection of how this company communicates, I probably dodged a bullet.

So first there was this video interview thing to weed out people who weren't serious. Then they wanted me to come to their office for this super short in person interview, like ten minutes. Honestly, they should have just done a phone call or video since I lived in another state and they knew that from my application. The person I was talking to couldn't even meet me so I met with two other people. They kept acting surprised that I flew out there, which was kinda funny to them. It was obvious they weren't gonna hire me and my trip out there was a joke to them. Like I said, ten mins and they asked stuff they already did in the video part, total waste of my time. They did say there would be a project test and then a hour long interview after this, and they did say this part really didn't need to be in person.

Technical Presentation

The interview process was thorough. First, there was a pre-recorded video interview to filter out casual applicants. Then, I had a 30-minute meeting with three marketing team members I'd be working with. After that, I was asked to submit writing samples. The final stage was a 90-minute intensive interview with upper management, though they usually interview candidates individually. They were nice and professional, but seemed to look for very specific answers and thought processes. Even though I didn't get the job, I learned a lot about their business model. It seems like a great team and company culture.
